Hamilton Nolan · 03/04/10 12:02PM

Gunner—a bomb-sniffing yellow Lab with the Marines in Afghanistan—has canine post-traumatic stress disorder. He can't sniff for bombs because every loud sound makes him run and hide. Sad, scared boy. WAR HURTS DOGS. RECONSIDER, AMERICA. [WSJ. Pic via]

Whitney Jefferson · 03/02/10 06:14PM

Pedigree dog food has apparently stepped up their game when it comes to commercials. This ad, shot using a 1000-frames-per-second Phantom camera, shows awww!-inducing dogs catching treats with their mouths in slow motion. Neat!

Great Dane vs. The Sprinkler

Devon Irete · 03/01/10 10:30AM

Just when you think the dog's got the hang of drinking from the bowl, you put a sprinkler in the lawn and he gets all mixed up. Does he drink it, bite it, or should he just walk away defeated?

Doggie Trampoline Master Doesn't Quite Cut it

Devon Irete · 02/22/10 10:30AM

This pup seems like the happiest pup ever when he's jumping on his trampoline. He even tries to do something other than jump straight up, but ends up jamming his face into the base repeatedly.

Corgi Puppy has Staircase Anxiety Issues

Jessica Poolt · 02/18/10 10:30AM

We're sure a real butterball, whatever that is, would have an easier time descending a flight of stairs than this adorable ball of fail.

Doggie Dos and Doggie Don't Knows at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Daniel Barnum-Swett · 02/17/10 04:17PM

Hot on the paws of the cute meltdown that was last week's Puppy Bowl and coinciding with the Vancouver Olympics, the 134th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was a canine alternative in the same spirit of elite competition.

After two days of doggie deliberations, Cede (that's short for Mercedes) the Scottish Terrier took home the Best in Show prize—a trophy cup big enough for her to sit in—but it was CNBC commentators' barely informed, innocuous breed banter that won the viewers. Gabbing at the world's greatest dog show, the anchors showed their deep understanding of the beasts.

Shetland Pony has Crush on a Dog

Arianna Reiche · 02/16/10 10:30AM

Let me get this straight, the cutest animal in existence fell in love with, and adopted the mannerisms of, the second cutest animal in existence? Does this mean media can end now?

Little Jockey Dog Races Itself

Devon Irete · 02/12/10 10:30AM

Wearing what is likely to be the most absurd doggie outfit ever, a little beagle races his jockey man around a snowy yard. It's just like a real race, pit stop and all.

Don't Forget Your Dog This Valentine's Day

cityfile · 02/10/10 02:13PM

As if it wasn't annoying enough that Hallmark has turned Valentine's Day into a monumental holiday, Purina would like to remind you that the holiday isn't just for humans. It's also the day when you're supposed to show your dog some serious affection as well. And it has the research to back it up: According to a survey conducted by the pet food company, 26 percent of dog owners "say 'I love you' once a day to their dogs—the same percentage that says 'I love you' once a day to a spouse or significant other."

The Driving Dog Prank

Spencer Lund · 02/10/10 11:30AM

Everyone thinks their dog is so smart. But even the dog whisperer doesn't have a dog chauffeur?

So, How Cute Was This Year's Puppy Bowl?

Whitney Jefferson · 02/07/10 04:32PM

Only the cutest thing we've ever seen. We're not quite sure what the rules of play are, but the blimp was manned by hamsters, the cheerleaders were sleepy bunnies, and there was a kitty halftime show. Judge for yourself.
