Serial flipper Edgar Bronfman Jr. has sold his 11-room apartment at 1040 Fifth Avenue for $21 million, according to property records published today. That's $1.5 million more than he paid for the place back in January of this year, but $3 million less than what he was originally seeking for the apartment when he first put it on the market. Benny Medina's client roster has been shrinking for quite a while now. In 2003, he was fired by Jennifer Lopez, who later filed suit against the Hollywood power-manager for misappropriating money. He lost another major client last year when Tyra Banks dropped him amid rumors success had gone to his head. ("His perk list is bigger than hers. Everything from private jets and votive candles that the staff has to light before he gets to the set," said one source.) Last month, Usher dumped him; last week, Page Six reported that Benny's biggest remaining star, Mariah Carey, pushed him to the side, reportedly because she caught wind that he was courting former client (and Mariah rival) Jennifer Lopez. Benny denied the rumors and headed off on vacation. And it turns out Mariah wasn't acting crazy after all!

Among the messages in Sarah Palin's hacked Yahoo email account is a photo sent earlier this week from a cellphone. The subject line: "LOOK AT TRIG!!!!!" (In case you weren't watching the Down Syndrome baby being passed around at the Republican Convention, Trig is the name of Sarah Palin's youngest child.) We called up the Alaskan cellphone number from which the message was supposedly sent. Click the thumb to listen to the voicemail.

Did the internet just cause Sarah Palin to destroy evidence? The potential Veep is in a bit of trouble for conducting state business using her personal, unarchived email address (gov.sarah@yahoo.com) instead of her official account (which is, of course, subject to laws requiring the retention of government records). Emails from that Yahoo account are already being sought in connection with the Troopergate investigation. Now comes word that Anonymous, the fun-loving Internet trouble-makers based loosely around the message board 4Chan, gained access to another Palin email account: gov.palin@yahoo.com. It looks legit! The offending posts, screenshots, heretofore unseen family photos, and emails have all been deleted from Imageshack and 4Chan. But we have them. You want to read Sarah Palin's email? Ok, sad thing first: a good Samaritan reset the password and tried to alert Sarah. But he also posted the new password, causing multiple people to try to log in at once, freezing the account for 24 hours. And now, the account has been deleted! Which is, as we said, maybe destruction of evidence? So for now this is, we think, all we'll get to see from this email account (if anyone finds evidence of saved emails, let us know.) Dick Fuld's enthusiastic assistant has returned to her desk! The same young lady who was picking up the Lehman Brothers chairman's line on Friday—but was noticeably absent yesterday—is once again taking Dick's calls. We can't imagine dealing with calls from pesky reporters all day is much fun, but we salute you for your dedication and hard work. And we hope Dick's lined up a job for you at Barclays.

Clever little diversion, Joe Moinian! The same day the real estate mogul's son and heir apparent was treated to a splashy story in the Observer, his real estate company was hit with a lawsuit over its latest development, 95 Wall Street. It seems the name that Moinian picked for the glitzy financial district building, Dwell95, isn't sitting well with the home design magazine that goes by the same name. Yesterday afternoon California-based Dwell filed suit against Moinian in US District Court, alleging that Moinian's development—which was designed by Philippe Starck and officially launched on Monday—violates a trademark held by the magazine since 1999. The mag argues that not only did Moinian rip off the name, his company also "depicted this trademark using a font and style that are nearly indistinguishable from the font and style used by Dwell." Today's suit wasn't a surprise for the Iranian-born tycoon. According to the legal papers, Dwell contacted Moinian to try and settle the matter back in March, and later engaged in "face-to-face" settlement talks with Moinian's company but never reached an agreement. And while the suit doesn't specify a dollar amount that Dwell is seeking, it's worth noting that they're asking for "three times Defendants' profits from its use of the Dwell trademark," which could add up in a hurry when you're marketing $2,700-a-month studios! We thought we'd check in with the chipper young woman who was answering Lehman CEO Dick Fuld's phone last week and see if she was keeping up her positive attitude. (Yes, there is someone still in the building picking up Dick's line. We wondered about that, too.) It seems like it's a different lady taking calls today. And she doesn't sound nearly as perky, which might have something to do with the fact that Lehman employees don't know if they're still getting paid.

The second most in-demand interview behind Sarah Palin? That would probably be Dick Fuld, the CEO of Lehman Brothers, who watched as the firm he led for more than two decades crumbled to pieces yesterday. Since rumors about Lehman's demise gained steam last week, Fuld has kept a low profile. Lehman employees didn't hear from him when the company filed for bankruptcy yesterday, he's been largely absent from the office in the last 48 hours, and according to the Wall Street Journal he's surrounded himself with a more elaborate security detail in recent days, which makes sense considering about 25,000 people would love to sock him in the face right now. So where is he? At his $10.82 million house in Greenwich, where he can always play a little tennis or take a dip in the pool to distract himself from the fact that his reputation has been ruined. ♦ Benny Shabtai, the president of Raymond Weil and Di Modolo and a staple on the New York social scene, has slashed the price of his townhouse at 870 Park. The Robert A.M. Stern-designed home, which has been on-and-off the market since 2004 and was most recently listed with Paula Del Nunzio for $33 million in March 2008, is now listed with Carrie Chiang for a (much more modest) $26.75 million. It looks like Google co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife Anne Wojcicki are planning on spending more time in New York. A month ago, we reported that Bill Brady, the head of Credit Suisse's technology banking practice, had sold off his duplex penthouse at 744 Greenwich for $8.5 million. Now it seems the buyer was none other than Brin and his genetics-loving wife. Earlier today Real Estalker mentioned it had received a tip that the tech billionaire was behind the purchase. When we checked the records, we noticed that the buyer, Moore LLC, shares the same address in Menlo Park, CA as Brin's private foundation. So what is the couple getting for their cash? Some 3,457-square-feet of living space, four bedrooms, limestone bath with heated floors, and a master suite with a 23-foot balcony. You can gaze at the photos yourself here.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen might be mini-moguls, but they haven't had much luck in the real estate business. It's been nearly a year now since the pair first put their penthouse at One Morton Square on the market for $11.995 million with 21-year-old Corcoran broker (and Curbed mascot) Jared Seligman. In May, it was reported that Seligman had chopped the price of the 5,725-square-foot condo to $10.495 million. Now Seligman has slashed the price once again, this time to $9.995 million. But Jared's inability to sell the place may ultimately prove good news for the girls. After all, they may need a place to crash if they can't make nice with their new neighbors, who have been itching to get them kicked out of their West 13th Street rental. Sure, you guys already have a few planes at your disposal (see here for Dimon's ride), but the Bombardier BD-700 Global Express is super-sweet ride. And it's the same exact model that Oprah has. The boom in online ad networks, those automated brokers of discount banners patronized by websites desperate for quick cash, is at long last turning to bust. And the shakeout couldn't have started with a more deserving company. Amid lawsuits and layoffs, Heavy.com has seen two-thirds of its once-15-strong salesforce leave, a source familiar with the company tells us. Meanwhile, the company is trying to sell its Heavy.com, a video destination targeted at young men, so far without success. The plan is to focus on its porn-friendly Husky ad network. Who's to blame? Recently hired "grownups," says our source.Heavy has never been a particularly reputable company. It used to inflate its traffic with popup ads. Yet it still managed to raise $20 million in venture capital in January 2007. By last fall, investors began to clamor for more revenue. The startup's management then brought in what our source calls "C-level grownups." The hires included CMO Eric Hadley from Microsoft; CTO Scott Penberthy from Photobucket; CFO Todd Sloan from Nielsen; and VP Richard Rocca, who spent a few months at shady ad network Glam Media after leaving the equally unsavory ad startup Gorilla Nation. That crew now runs the company, "but the problem is there's not going to be anybody to run it with them," says our source, who calls the new leaders "ineffective."

On a day like today, you might expect the assistant to Lehman Brothers CEO Dick Fuld to be particularly stressed out as her boss frantically tries to find someone—anyone—to acquire the faltering investment bank. She sounds pretty upbeat and energetic to us, but we'll let you be the judge.

• A couple of days ago, people were wondering when Bill and Tina Flaherty's penthouse apartment at 1040 Fifth Avenue would hit the market and how much the listing price would be. (It was expected to be upwards of $30 million.) Now we have the answer: It's listed with Corcoran's Leighton Candler for $43 million. [Cityfile]

New York Public Library president Paul LeClerc (pictured here giving a first-edition copy of Harry Potter the respect it so very much deserves) and his wife Dr. Judith Ginsberg have sold a co-op apartment at 1170 Fifth Avenue for $3.3 million. That doesn't necessarily mean they're leaving the building on 98th and Fifth. Property records indicate they've owned an apartment a few floors up, on the 12th floor, since 2005. [Cityfile]

It's a good thing Times dining critic Frank Bruni reviews food for a living, which only relies on his sense of taste and not his eyesight. The photo that accompanied his takedown of power lunch spot Michael's yesterday included quite the collection of moguls in the background, not that Bruni—or anyone else at the Times—seemed to notice. In the audio interview that accompanied the review, Bruni says that the eatery "seems to draw in particularly large measure from the publishing, literary and journalistic worlds. You know, you might see someone like Graydon Carter there. Apparently, you do see some celebrities there. I didn't spot them, but maybe I just missed them as I was hustled to Siberia." Carter isn't much of a Michael's devotee, actually, but perhaps Bruni should have taken a closer look at the picture that accompanied his review.

To distract voters from their disaffection with Republican policies, the McCain campaign has focussed shamelessly and brilliantly on personality and pedigree. You want a "community organizer" (boo!) or the descendant of a long line of warriors? Now even John McCain's children—like those of his running mate—have been summoned to the cause: daughter Meghan told the Today Show yesterday that only her family could understand war; and wife Cindy trumpeted the family's military tradition in a primetime convention speech last week. "Our son, Jack, will graduate from the United States Naval Academy next year—fourth generation—ready to do his service." But these polished family narratives also draw uncomfortable attention, as the Palins are discovering—and the McCains may also. For that Scots-Irish warrior spirit, somewhat mellowed in the old man, may run a little too undiluted in Jack McCain and his friends. Someone going by the name of the candidate's son called for the killing of "towel heads" on a friend's blog much as John McCain once railed against the gooks in Vietnam, as we'll show below.
