A little-known electric bassist and hair-metal enthusiast named Mike Huckabee will pay $25,000 to the band Survivor for using their hit “Eye of the Tiger” at an event without permission, CNN reports.

The guitarist in the band Survivor is suing Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign, the Associated Press reports, over the Arkansas governor’s use of the band’s 1982 hit, “Eye of the Tiger.”

Magic.

On tonight's Colbert Report, Stephen took Newt Gingrich to task for using Survivor's hit song "Eye of the Tiger" without permission during his rallies. It was "an eye for an Eye of the Tiger" as Stephen welcomed Survivor lead singer Dave Bickler to sing part of Newt's book without permission. The result is as brilliantly absurd as anything Stephen has done in a while.

The long, proud tradition of aging rock stars suing republican candidates for using their songs on the trail continued today. Frank Sullivan, Survivor's only true survivor and co-author of the song "Eye of the Tiger," filed a lawsuit against Newt Gingrich, who has taken to entering political rallies while the Rocky theme blasts on the PA system.
