Many words have been used to describe the upcoming Games of the XXXI Olympiad—words such as “hell,” “nightmare,” and “state of public calamity,” to name a few. But is Rio really going to be all that bad?

It's been over a month since we last reported on Aimee Copeland, the 24-year-old grad student suffering from a virulent case of necrotizing fasciitis. Since then, she has continued to make strides toward recovery, even refusing morphine during some of her procedures.

This is flesh-eating bacteria, magnified a lot. And the type of bacteria attacking 24-year-old Aimee Copeland's body, Aeromonas hydrophila, is "remarkably common."
