David Wildstein, a former Port Authority official and longtime ally of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, is expected to plead guilty to unspecified charges today for the closing of several lanes of the George Washington Bridge in 2013, the New York Times reports.

A Fort Lee soldier who caused an "active shooter" alert at the Virginia base this morning has died after reportedly shooting herself while barricaded in an office. The Associated Press reports that the soldier "went on a rampage" in an office and shot herself. No other injuries have been reported.

Aaaaaand scene: David Wildstein, the Chris Christie pal who carried out the traffic shutdown known as Bridgegate, has been accused of criminal contempt by the New Jersey Assembly for refusing to answer questions. Logically, whatever misdoings he's aware of rose higher in his mind than the rap he's getting now.

The town of Fort Lee, New Jersey, has begun issuing tickets to people caught walking and texting after some 20 people have been struck by cars since the start of 2012.
