When your country's national musical treasure returns home to London after winning six Grammys and endearing herself to millions of bitter, cynical Americans with a single snort, it is probably in best practice to allow said treasure a fair number of seconds to bask in the moment of winning Album of the Year at her homeland's biggest music awards show. If you don't, said treasure can always flip everyone off on national television.

Chris Brown, domestic abuser and generally awful human, keeps doing this awkward thing where he reminds us how awful he is. Take last night's tweet, which he deleted soon after it was posted, as the latest example:

This is just a crazy string of betrayals, but this rocker is thinking of leaving his celeb partner to shack up with a new lady. This singer skipped the Grammys to enter rehab, and these TV news personalities are on the rocks. Let's see how long they can keep this news under wraps.

This R&B lady was trying to improve her career by bedding a powerful man backstage at Fashion Week. This actress is going bald, this actress slept with a woman to win a bet, this Oscar nominee has a drinking problem, and this celeb didn't go to the Grammys because she didn't want to be upstaged by Whitney. She at least could have snuck backstage.

I was watching the Grammys last night because I had nothing better to do, and it dawned on me that, for all of the Grammys' shortcomings (and there are many), I enjoyed watching that telecast FAR more than I've enjoyed watching any Oscars telecast over the past 10 or 20 years. Here's why:

This singer has been arguing with her friends and advisers over her controversial dress for the Grammys. This actor slept with his director's wife, and this actress is pulling a Single White Female on a less-famous actress. Next they're going to be fighting over outfits.

The "rubbish relationship," the snot, it was all great.

What?

Not an easy job and Jennifer Hudson delivered.

Justin isn't a fan of the Grammys. It showed.

Amazing. And the first bit of truly inspired anything tonight.
