In 1993, Jennifer Toth horrified the world with her book The Mole People: Life in the Tunnels Beneath New York City. The work detailed the lives of the homeless citizens who’d established communities in the subway and railroad tunnels beneath the streets of New York. Though criticism of the validity of some of Toth’s claims ran rampant following her book’s release, over the years various other sources have indeed found many people—one documentary estimated as many as 6,000—living illegally and dangerously in the subway tunnels.

This morning actress Debi Mazar (who also happens to be my number one fan) found a crazy sight on the front stoop of her house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of L.A. There was a homeless person passed out on the welcome mat. Debi took it in stride, until he started jerking off.

Yesterday we heard about Young Lee, the co-founder of frozen gruel with Fruity Pebbles on top yogurt chain Pinkberry, who allegedly beat the crap out of a homeless man with a tire iron after the homeless man showed him his "sexually explicit" tattoo. Now we finally know what the tattoo is.

After going viral last week and getting picked up (and released) by the police this week, Ted Williams is now going to rehab. Who convinced him? Dr. Phil, of course. Williams is living the entire celebrity lifecycle in one month!

Christopher X Brodeur, the kind of inspiring lunatic and perpetual media critic and NYC mayoral candidate who was news around here back in aught-five or so, is now homeless. Can he crash on your floor?
