Twerking Russian Hooligans Jailed

A court in Russia’s Novorossiysk district has sentenced a 19-year-old and two women in their 20s to 15 days and 10 days in jail, respectively, for twerking in front of a World War II memorial, the Associated Press reports. The dancers were found guilty of hooliganism. The twerking was recorded in a music video, which was posted to YouTube.

Two Pussy Riot Members Flee Russia

Two members of the Russian punk collective Pussy Riot have fled Russia in order to avoid prosecution for an anti-Putin protest. The other three Pussy Riot members who participated in the protest - Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich - were recently sentenced to two years in jail for "hooliganism." According to Tolokonnikova's husband, Pyotr Verzilov, the two women are safe from Russian authorities.
