There are plenty of classic tales of hotboxing, but this one might be the greatest of all. A Canadian man, while waiting in his car at a police checkpoint in Nova Scotia last week, decided it was time to "casually" smoke a joint with the windows rolled down. Officers smelled weed and approached the man and, a puzzled Cpl. Andy Hamilton told the CBC afterwards, "I honestly don't know what to think." But, he added, the man passed an hour-long field sobriety test and concluded that "this was the one and only joint that was smoked."

There are very few instances when eating anything at all from McDonald's deserves a pass. Post-joint/blunt/bong rip/whatever is one of them. But when you're getting high in public it pays to be at least somewhat vigilant (when possible). Just ask flagrant 21-year-old Jose Barrera of Elgin, Illinois:

Surprise: The Texas prosecutor who said a judge would let Willie Nelson off on a hotboxing charge if he sang "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" (in addition to pleading guilty and paying a fine) in the courtroom was joking. Judge Becky Dean-Walker told the AP that the prosecutor's joke simply "got out of hand." Still, it was fun to think about. And maybe he'll do it anyway?

Country singer Willie Nelson was arrested yesterday by Border Patrol agents in Texas after they caught a whiff of marijuana coming from his tour bus. Nelson admitted the six ounces of weed were his and posted a $2,500 bond.

Six months after serving time on federal weapons charges, rapper T.I. was arrested driving last night in West Hollywood after police "smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle." Another celebrity undone by the "vapor trail."
