Amid the sordid details of this August New York Times story of a “campaign of retribution” against inmates after the escape of two prisoners from Clinton Correctional Facility was an evocative description of one particular perpetrator:

In the days after convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat escaped Clinton Correction Facility, corrections officers allegedly beat, choked, and threatened to waterboard the inmates remaining in their block, prisoners told the New York Times.
