Looks like the boycotts didn't work: the Rolling Stone issue featuring Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its cover was a hit. The “Boston Bomber” issue sold 13,332 copies in retail stores, more than double the magazine's average sales from last year.

Rolling Stone has just published the Janet Reitman story accompanying its controversial Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover online.

Last night, Rolling Stone announced that its August 1, 2013 issue will feature a cover story about Marathon Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev by contributing editor Janet Reitman, an excellent investigative reporter who's spent the last two months working on the piece.

This afternoon, Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev made his first court appearance since a federal grand jury indicted the 19-year-old on more than 30 counts, including using a weapon of mass destruction to result in death and "bombing of a place of public use."

Up until last week, "One Direction Infection," a Tumblr blog created and maintained by an eighth grader we'll call Claire, looked like any other 14-year-old's Tumblr: a bright pink background, a default font that resembles cute handwriting, an embedded MP3 player playing Daddy Yankee and Jesse McCartney, and scores of photographs and animated GIFs of the members of One Direction, Britain's biggest boy band.
