Tasha Thomas, the girlfriend of John Crawford, III, the man shot dead by police last August in an Ohio Walmart, was killed in a high-speed car crash on New Year's Day, Ohio's ABC 22 reports.

The Ohio attorney general has released a 94-minute video recording of a police interview (part of which can be seen here) with a young woman whose boyfriend, John Crawford III, had just been killed by police. The video was released to The Guardian in response to a public records request.

A special grand jury called to review evidence in the fatal shooting of John Crawford III, killed by police in an Ohio Walmart while carrying a BB gun from store's shelves, decided today that no officers involved in the shooting will be indicted. A disturbing video of Crawford's shooting was also released, showing he had the BB gun pointed at the floor when he was shot.

John Crawford III, a 22-year-old black man, was fatally shot by police inside an Ohio Walmart after another shopper reported Crawford was "walking around with a gun in the store." The alleged gun, which the witness described in a 911 call as a black rifle, and later said he thought was an AR-15, turned out to be a BB rifle from one of the store's shelves.

An attorney for the family of John Crawford III, the man fatally shot by police in an Ohio Walmart store, says surveillance video contradicts the police department's version of events. Officers say Crawford refused to drop the pellet gun he was holding, but the video allegedly shows them gunning him down "on sight."
