CNN reports that two American citizens have been allowed to leave North Korea, where they had been detained for months. Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller “are on their way home,” according to the Office of the U.S. Director of National Intelligence.

Kenneth Bae, the American missionary who has been jailed in North Korea for more than a year, told reporters at a press conference in Pyongyang on Monday that the United States could help ensure his release if they cooperated with Kim Jong Un's government. He also admitted to commtting crimes against North Korea.

When North Korea announced it had sentenced imprisoned American tour operator Kenneth Bae to 15 years hard labor earlier this month, it gave no details about his crime other than he had attempted to "overthrow" the North Korean government. But now North Korea has presented more details about Bae's crime: They say he smuggled anti-government propaganda into the country, and preached the overthrow of regime as part of a Christian missionary-backed plan called "Operation Jericho."
