This Father’s Day, as with every Father’s Day, Facebook is going to become a cascade of carefully chosen, lovingly captioned dad photos. Many will be painted over with the static of age. A “dad bod” joke or two will worm its way in. And several posts will inevitably be dedicated to those dads that have passed, who aren’t here to share the day for any number of reasons, all of them heartbreaking.
Christopher Hitchens, the Clinton-loathing, religion-mocking, Kurd-loving, war-mongering, ball-waxing British drunk who contained multitudes and seemed to be insulting you somehow even when you agreed with him, which was precisely 59% of the time, has died of complications from esophageal cancer at the age of 62.
Resident Fox gossipmonger Roger Friedman outdid himself this morning with the "news" that romantically linked Stop-Loss co-stars Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish are "apparently having a child." You wouldn't know it now, of course, with Friedman's allegation deleted from his copy without any note or citation from his editors at Fox News. Thank goodness for the quick-thinking eagle-eyes at The Huffington Post, who nabbed a screengrab of the offending passage you can spy after the jump.
