Anonymous really loved Megaupload. Still reeling over the loss of the best place to download the entire TLC discography on the web, members of the hacktivist collective have apparently launched an effort to build a replacement for the file-sharing service killed by the feds last week: Anonyupload.

Anonymous staged one of its largest attacks ever yesterday in retaliation for the Feds shutting down file-sharing site MegaUpload for allegedly being a criminal copyright-infringement conspiracy. Anonymous should probably learn about the spectacularly greedy playboy they've rallied behind in the name of free culture (and tricked others into rallying behind).

By far the most surprising thing about the news that four people have been arrested by the FBI in connection with a 72-page indictment handed down on file-sharing site Megaupload (and its streaming-video sister Megavideo) was learning that rap producer and Alicia Keys husband Swizz Beatz is the company's CEO. Otherwise, well, they definitely saw this coming, right? Sure, it's little bit odd to hear the government describe the site where you watched most of season four of Friends while you were sick last week as a "a worldwide criminal organization whose members engaged in criminal copyright infringement and money laundering on a massive scale." What the world has been missing lately is a big, all-stars-on-deck charity single to benefit a needy cause (casual racism optional). So we're really glad that Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Diddy, Chris Brown, Floyd Mayweather (Floyd Mayweather?) and others have joined together to release the "Megaupload Mega Song," to benefit the, uh, charitable cause of, well, a file-sharing site.
