Last year, longtime Men's Health editor Dave Zinczenko was let go, reportedly because bosses tired of his "relentless self-promotion." Zinczenko was hired by AMI to revamp its smaller Men's Health rival, Men's Fitness. And now, former colleagues are grumbling that Zinczenko is doing little more than ripping off Men's Health for his new venture.

Larry Carlat used to be a married editor of a men's magazine. (Men's Health, according to LinkedIn.) Then he became obsessed with Twitter, lost his job, got divorced, and alienated loved ones. In a grim addiction memoir for NYT Magazine's Lives column, the tweetoholic describes tweeting "every hour on the hour, day and night":

We all knew that Aaron Schock, the abs-baring Republican congressman from Illinois, was seriously cut, but now he's posing fully shirtless in Men's Health. And his body is even better than we thought.

Rodale, publisher of Men's Health and employer of serial plagiarist David Zinczenko, explains why ripping writers' bylines off their work, and slapping Zinczenko's on, is OK: "The byline doesn't take credit for the work, but serves as an overarching tag."

In a triumph for lazy hacks everywhere, Dave Zinczenko's Men's Health was nominated for National Magazine Awards for three of its 2009 issues—the covers of which are visually indistinguishable from the same shit Zincenko was hawking last year.

Yesterday, Men's Health editor David Zinczenko got caught cutting and pasting old cover lines onto the new issue of his magazine. Today, he explained that it was a deliberate "overall branding strategy." Boy, was he right.

Editor-in-chief Dave Zinczenko got busted yesterday for running exactly the same cover, almost word-for-word, as the October 2007 issue. Today he tells the New York Post's Keith Kelly that it was intentional.

Word on the street is that Men's Health editor-in-chief Dave Zinczenko has checked out of editing the magazine. So why bother writing new cover lines for the latest issue when the ones from October 2007 will do?
