Jean Dujardin: Too Sexy for His Oscar Nom?

Molly Fitzpatrick · 02/04/12 03:04AM

Sexy Parisian movie posters featuring Oscar contender Jean Dujardin, star of The Artist, have journalists worried that he may have compromised his wholesome appeal and apparent legitimacy as a dramatic actor. Could this photo cost him Best Actor?

You Can Help Martin Scorsese Fight Dog Breedism

Louis Peitzman · 01/29/12 02:36PM

As some of us continue to lament Academy Awards snubs, Martin Scorsese has embarked on a nobler cause. The director of the Oscar-nominated Hugo feels that his film's dog, a Doberman named Blackie, was unfairly overlooked by the prestigious Golden Collar Awards. (Actually, these are the first annual Golden Collar Awards, but I treat all animal-related contests with the esteem they deserve.)

Reese Witherspoon Romantic Comedy Has Alternate Endings to Hate

Louis Peitzman · 01/29/12 10:45AM

You'll have to wait until Valentine's Day to see This Means War, a romantic comedy in which Reese Witherspoon (along with the women and gay men in the audience) must choose between Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. I haven't seen the movie, so I can't fairly judge it — but I will, a little. Especially after an interview in which director McG admitted to shooting multiple endings in order to prevent people from finding out which hottie Witherspoon's character ends up with.

David Fincher to India: The Anal Rape Stays in the Picture

Louis Peitzman · 01/28/12 02:51PM

Barring a glossy Bollywood remake — which, honestly, could be kind of fun — India will not be releasing The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, India's Central Board of Film Certification demanded some pretty big content cuts. To which David Fincher said, "No fucking way." (I doubt he used that language, but when rejecting censorship, it's always fun to throw in an extra swear.)

Third Hangover Movie Imminent

Maureen O'Connor · 01/26/12 01:47PM

Hollywood Reporter via NYDN: "After months of headaches over stars Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifanakis and Ed Helms' $15 million-plus contract demands, Warner Brothers is nearing a deal" for The Hangover III. Hollywood will not stop until it grinds this franchise into the ground, sucking every last dollar and ounce of humor from Zach Galifanakis' slowly draining soul. Not a bad way to go, all things considered. [image via Warner-Brothers]

Andrea Peyser Is Extremely Mad and Incredibly Dumb

Hamilton Nolan · 01/19/12 09:13AM

Animatronic tabloid rage sex screed-writer Andrea Peyser has set aside her sexcellent sexcapades for a day in order to get good and rageful about something deplorably predictable. "More rage, less sexxx" may be Andrea Peyser's catchphrase, in 2012 (time will tell). What is Andrea rageful about, today? Well, let's just see what's in the movie theaters, shall we?

There's Going to Be a Bridesmaids Sequel Without Kristen Wiig?

Brian Moylan · 01/04/12 02:45PM

There may be another Bridesmaids movie that has nothing to do with Kirstin Wiig. This is like Laverne and Shirley when there was no Shirley! Where can I send my anger? What is the address to send shit stained wedding dresses in protest? It seems Universal is the culprit.

Upside Down: Kirsten Dunst Is Head Over Heels

Brian Moylan · 01/03/12 03:41PM

Check out this French trailer for the new thriller Upside Down. I don't quite get how this high concept works. Apparently there is a world with two sets of gravity and those who are right side up can't fall in love with those upside down. Unless you're Kirsten Dunst, of course.

Ranking Every Movie I Saw This Year

Brian Moylan · 12/28/11 05:01PM

I go to the movies a lot. Just about every week, in fact. Rather than just telling you the best and worst movies of the year, I thought it would be fun to rank every single movie I sat through in a movie theater in 2011. Here's the complete list.

The Most Pirated Movies of the Year Are God Awful

Brian Moylan · 12/28/11 11:26AM

I'm the kind of person who pays for all his movies, so I don't even know how to download something with BitTorrent. Not only does that make me a Luddite, it apparently makes me a person with good taste, because the most downloaded movies of 2011 are pretty much all awful.

How Pixar Screwed Up Cartoon Cars For a Generation of Kids

Jason Torchinsky · 12/26/11 10:45AM

Normally, I wouldn't want to bring up something of this gravity during the holidays, but I have to take a firm stand on an issue that's been bothering me for a long while. I've sat by long enough and did nothing while wrongs were committed, on greater and greater scales. But no more. Today I make my stand. Here goes:

Bel Ami: Robert Pattinson Didn't Make a Gay Porno

Brian Moylan · 12/23/11 11:46AM

The funniest thing about Bel Ami the new period pic starring Twilight Mr. Potato Head Robert Pattinson is that it shares the name of a popular gay porn company. Tee-hee! But Mr. Pattinson shows he knows how to make sexy with all the ladies!
