If you know anything about the Internet, you know that there was no way the insta-iconic interview with Cleveland hero Charles Ramsey wasn't going to be autotuned.
Say what you will about the insensitivity of Ramsey's meme-ification in light of the tragic events surrounding his sudden fame, but gallows humor will forever be the Internet's bread and butter, so just log off right now and save yourself the think piece.
As for the autotune, even the most easily outraged have to concede that the Gregory Brothers handled the subject matter with tasteful and moving care as only they can.
Which is all to say: The autotune was going to happen anyway; be happy that the Gregory Brothers stepped in and made it; because now no one else will bother.
