This Sure Doesn't Look Like a "Possible" Sinkhole
It looks like a really really big sinkhole. But maybe the rules are different in Central Florida:
Winter Haven police are at the scene of a possible sinkhole that has opened up in the parking lot of a Publix grocery store on Cypress Gardens Boulevard across from Legoland.
Police said the owners have contacted geologists to evaluate.
The hole measures approximately 30 feet wide and 5 feet deep.
The parking lot continues to buckle in areas around the hole, police said.
I mean:
If anyone can provide Gawker with video of a Polk County geologist outside this Publix looking at the blacktop and saying, "Yep, it's a sinkhole," I will do everything I can in my power to get you hired.
