At least three people were wounded in a shooting at a Copenhagen synagogue tonight. Two of the wounded were police officers, and one of the victims was reportedly shot in the head. The shooter reportedly fled on foot, and a manhunt is underway in central Copenhagen. The attack comes just hours after a gunman opened fired during a free speech debate at a cafe in the Danish city, killing one and wounding three.

Update, 8:30 a.m. – Police said they shot and killed a man they believe perpetrated both fatal attacks yesterday, the New York Times reports. According to ABC News, the person who was shot in the head at the synagogue has died.

After attacking the synagogue, the New York Times reports, the gunman opened fire on police officers near a train and subway station in Copenhagen's Norrebro neighborhood; police confronted him as he was returning to an address they were keeping under surveillance.

"We believe the same man was behind both shootings and we also believe that the perpetrator who was shot by the police action force at Norrebro station is the person behind the two attacks," a senior police official, Torben Moelgaard, told a press conference. Police inspector Jensen Jorgen Skov said that there was no indication any other suspects were involved.
