According to Donald Trump, idiot billionaire and face of YouTube’s popular Annoying Orange, Mexican immigrants who come to the U.S. illegally “have lots of problems” and they’re “bringing those problems to us.” He has publicly claimed that the only things undocumented immigrants have to offer the U.S. are drugs and rape, but privately Trump knows better: they can also construct shiny new hotels, like the one they’re building for Trump in Washington, D.C.

The Washington Post interviewed workers at the future site of the $200 million Trump International Hotel—located down the street from the White House—and found that many of them are in the U.S. illegally. Some are worried Trump “might come one day and pretty much tell us to get the heck out of here.”

“The majority of us are Hispanics, many who came illegally,” stonemason Ivan Arellano—who came to the U.S. legally from Mexico—told the Post, “And we’re all here working very hard to build a better life for our families.”

The same alleged rapists and drug dealers Trump wants to keep out of the U.S. with a literal giant wall say they’re risking their lives daily by installing windows on high floors of his new hotel and working with toxic chemicals.

When the Post contacted the Trump Organization for comment, a spokesperson said questions about illegal hiring practices had never come up on a Trump project, and passed the buck to the lead contractor for the hotel.

“The obligation to check all workers on site is exclusive to Lend Lease. This of course assumes that the assertion regarding the employees’ status is accurate,” legal counsel Michael Cohen told the Post.

Trump is the sole owner of the Old Post Office property where the hotel is going up.
