TV Star Tricked by Fake Girlfriend Into Filming 'Sexy Hot Tub Video'

Married actor Thomas Gibson of Dharma & Greg and Criminal Minds fame has allegedly spent the last two years engaging in an online relationship with a woman who used photos ripped from porn sites to convince the TV star to send her tawdry videos of himself.

TMZ reports that Gibson and the unnamed North Dakota woman regularly traded "explicit photos and video," except that, while Gibson's contributions were real, his fake Internet girlfriend's replies were lifted from websites such as LoveGisele.com [NSFW].

Eventually, Gibson and his lawyers put the kibosh on the catfishing after learning that the woman's photos were not her own.

Unfortunately for Gibson, it seems his "lover" ran straight to TMZ with two of the "sexy hot tub videos" he sent to her during their digital love affair.

Responding to the story on Twitter, Gibson called it "spliced bunch of lies" and "no one's business."

Except maybe his wife and kids'.

First Miranda has to ruin all the phone fun with celebs and now you have to Catfish a guy whose only fault was starring in a lame TV show with a Scientologist.

This kind of thing really gives your average bored housewife a bad name.

And people who use fake photos for their avatar are the worst. I am 100% legit, tho my picture was taken a while back and I may be a larger font now.

Secondly who the frak knows what he and his wife agree to, a marriage is a thing of wonder with secrets and agreements no outsider could begin to understand.

It's really a story as old as time and gender and ethnicity has little to do with it.

I'm really on the fence about fantasy online relationships and whether they constitute cheating. This technology is fairly new, and I think we don't have a set moral system to deal with online relationships. On the one hand, how can it be cheating if you are never in the room with the person and never touch them? On the other hand, online relationships can be highly emotionally intense and real for the people who are in them. Then, add in the fact that many people engage in fantasy role playing on line and so a relationship that feels real can be with an imaginary persona.

Also, I feel like people's sexuality is their own business and everybody probably looks and sounds a little silly when they are enjoying themselves. I'm not a big fan of slut shaming anyone for enjoying their sexuality.

TMZ seems to be justifying the public humiliation because this guy is married and a public figure and was duped, but this mini-scandal is surely not fun for his wife and kids.

I'm just glad that I fell in love with a guy I met at a bar and that he works with computers all day and doesn't really touch them at home.

I think that in a relationship mature people can have mature agreements about what is and isn't cheating.

I agree that online "relationships" can be very real and sometimes more intense than IRL since one is only putting his/her best words forward and all the drudgery of daily life is stripped from the relationship which can heighten feelings and lead to a false sense of closeness and understanding.

I am personally fine and dandy with my husband having an online or offline affair as long as I know the steamy details, but he's not a perv like me so he won't stray.
