U.K. Politely Tells Pickup Artist Julien Blanc to Go Fuck Himself
Julien Blanc, a pickup artist whose seduction techniques cross the line into assault, had to cut his #ChokingGirlsAroundTheWorld lecture tour short earlier this month after he faced international protests and got deported from Australia. Now Blanc, who is half-American, half-hair-product, has been barred from entering the U.K. as well.
The U.K. leg of his tour was scheduled to start in February, but it looks like that won't be happening now. The Guardian reports that the Home Office has rejected Blanc's visa application.
The Home Office doesn't comment on specific cases, but has the power to deny entry to people whose "presence is not conducive to the public good." Crime prevention minister Lynne Featherstone, Blanc's most vocal opponent within the office, told the BBC she was "delighted Mr. Blanc won't be coming to our shores."
Japan is also reportedly considering banning Blanc, and petitions have been started in Germany and Canada.
In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo earlier this week, Blanc nervously apologized "to anyone I've offended in any way. I just want to put it out there, like, I'm extremely sorry for everything that happened."
To be clear, "everything that happened" includes choking women, selling classes on breaking down their "last-minute resistance" to sex, and running around Tokyo shoving strange women's heads toward his dick while yelling "Pikachu." More than 150,000 people have now signed online petitions condemning Blanc's behavior, his program, and his company, Real Social Dynamics.
On CNN, Blanc dismissed photos showing him with his hands around women's necks as "a horrible, horrible attempt at humor" and "not what I teach." He added that he was "extremely sorry" that he's now the most hated man in the world.
This should be the end of Blanc's "dating coach" career, but it's not: Even after being dressed down on national TV and locking down his social media accounts, he's still charging $500 a pop to teach you how to "increase their compliance all the way to the bedroom."
