Watch Hillary Clinton Almost Get Hit by a Flying Shoe
Yesterday afternoon, a woman threw a shoe at Hillary Clinton during the former secretary of state's speech at a convention in Las Vegas. Now we have video of the attack.
As you can see, the shoe flew right by Clinton, who—channeling George W. Bush—quickly ducked out of the way.
"What was that, a bat?" Clinton asked after the near-miss. "Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?"
"My goodness, I didn't know that solid waste management was so controversial," Clinton said later. "Thank goodness she didn't play softball like I did."
The shoe-thrower was immediately taken into custody and will face criminal charges. Her black-and-orange shoe was found later on the stage.
