In December The Daily Mail reported that News Corp billionaire Rupert Murdoch had divorced his third wife, Wendi Deng, over some kind of “intimate note” indicating Deng’s crush on former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Today Vanity Fair published a portion of the impassioned letter:

It was written in broken English by a woman to herself, pouring out her love for a man called Tony. “Oh, shit, oh, shit,” she wrote. “Whatever why I’m so so missing Tony. Because he is so so charming and his clothes are so good. He has such good body and he has really really good legs Butt . . . And he is slim tall and good skin. Pierce blue eyes which I love. Love his eyes. Also I love his power on the stage . . . and what else and what else and what else . . . ”

Where this note was written—a diary? an email? in wet concrete?—the article’s author, Mark Seal, doesn’t say. It would be quite the twist if Murdoch, who narrowly escaped professional death after admitting that his subordinates hacked various story subjects over the course of several years, would allow his ex-wife’s communications to leak out, too. (Seal writes that the note “could have been one of the few pieces of evidence in their surprise divorce last year, had the case come to trial” and appears to have surfaced in the course an investigation, conducted by Murdoch’s aides, into rumors of Deng’s infidelity.)

Not that Murdoch isn’t rumored to be unfaithful too. As multiple sources told Gawker in July, British prosecutors turned up several emails indicating that Murdoch had slept with former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks. The messages surfaced during the discovery process for the ongoing phone-hacking trial against Brooks and other News Corporation employees.
