Avid consumers of BuzzFeed’s entertaining and informative listicles have noticed something strange: Their favorite ones have disappeared. Where did they go?

A tipster pointed out yesterday that at least three of senior editor Matt Stopera’s posts—which drew over 287,000 combined page views—have been completely wiped from BuzzFeed’s servers. Among them:

Gawker’s Adrian Chen highlighted each of these posts in a June 2012 dissection of BuzzFeed’s aggregation practices, and we featured the last one in a March 2014 round-up of BuzzFeed listicles about the 1995 teen comedy Clueless.

In an email to Gawker, BuzzFeed spokesperson Ashley McCollum explained why these (and perhaps other) acclaimed listicles went AWOL:

In a review of our most updated policies and standards, we revisited all posts from earlier years. Certain items published no longer met our editorial standards and we want all content our readers see to meet our current policies and practices. We edited some posts, removed certain posts and left other posts as is.
