Worker Pulled Alive from Shenzhen Landslide Debris after 67 Hours
On Wednesday, the Xinhua News Agency reports, a young migrant worker who’d been trapped for days under mud and debris in Shenzhen has been rescued. A landslide swept through one of the city’s industrial areas on Sunday.
According to the New York Times, the young man, Tian Zeming, spent 67 hours trapped inside a building after a door panel crushed his foot. Chinese news agencies followed the rescue closely.
More than 5,000 rescue workers have been deployed to the industrial zone, the Times reports. Seventy-six people are still missing, and only four bodies have been found.
