Lost Remote points us to this utterly disturbing study, which concludes that people with Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) are actually more likely to watch commercials than those just watching, as Defamer likes to refer to it, "acoustic TV".

If you're paying attention to commercials, why do you even have a DVR in the first place? Didn't you buy your TiVo for the same reason as we did? That is, to totally subvert the current television advertising model, and reduce Les Moonves, Jeff Zucker, Gail Berman, and that unlucky bastard who just took over ABC (the name escapes us) to eating lukewarm Hormel chili over a burning trashcan? You've got to tooka-tooka your way past the McDonald's ads, people, or the Zuckers have already won!
