Page Six throws a little of its inky muscle behind the New York Nightlife Association's recent study of the effect of the smoking ban. The highlights of the NYNA's report:

Of the 300 bars polled, 1/3rd of NYC bars have reduced staff since the smoking ban. 3/4's of those bars blamed the smoking ban for the layoffs.

3/4's of bars and nightclubs report a decline in customers since the ban.

1/5th of non-food-serving bars and nightclubs report a decrease in alcohol sales since the smoking ban.
