Upon seeing our earlier post about the LAT's profile of reading-impaired producer Avi Lerner, a reader offers a fresh chapter in the Big Book of Dumb Shit PAs Are Forced To Endure:

I had the luxury of PAing for Avi early in my career. The highlight was a day spent driving his new Caddy around the west side establishing a cell connection on his phone. Someone convinced him that he wouldn't lose signal strength on his way to work if the phone became accustomed to the route, so I spent the entire day driving his car and talking on his cell phone. After about four hours I returned only to be sent back out to doubly ensure I didn't miss any spots.

Not that we'd ever doubt a producer's credulity about the inner workings of cell phones (we once told one that if he shook the phone vigorously, he'd get more anytime minutes out of it) , but do you get the feeling that the poor PA was being kept busy while the boss attended to some important matter, like dissolving a body in lye after a casting session with Steven Seagal went terribly wrong?
