MediaBistro's (Lying About Your) Salary Survey is here!

The winners: People on TV, in PR, and "Online/new media," which apparently pays as well as working for a national newspaper. I'm told this isn't very surprising, but I, personally, am shocked. In my own Online/new media work, I've been paid only in occasional cartons of cigarettes, which Eliot Spitzer keeps impounding. Is this the wrong new media? Is there a different internet?

As usual, the salaries have an inverse relationship to the ideals required to do the jobs. But don't get too worked up about it: community newspapers and independent films are, after all, pretty annoying. -AP
