For the Lumbergh-suffering masses, BusinessWeek has a helpful little feature on keeping your inevitably god-awful business presentations from inspiring mass suicide. Seeking expert advice, they talk to the woman responsible for your inability to live like a human being in Manhattan, realtor Barbara Corcoran:

[Corcoran] recommends being "hyper-paranoid" about respecting your listeners' time by keeping presentations succinct.

Everyone is busy, she says, and most folks just don't have time to hear all the details unless they specifically ask. Corcoran puts it bluntly when she says, "People are not as interested in you as you think they are."

So says the woman who made 45 television appearances in one week to talk about "sexy" suburbs.
