Elizabeth Leonard Replaces Todd Gold at 'People'
More news from glossy tabville: Elizabeth Leonard, formerly deputy bureau chief for People, has been promoted to West Coast bureau chief. This is a bit more interesting than usual, as one might consider this announcement as an unofficial update on the status of former bureau chief Todd Gold, who's "on leave" to write his book and deal with some pesky sexual harrassment claims. If Leonard's moving in to Gold's old office, one might safely say Gold has more or less left People to pursue his dream of circling local playgrounds in his white minivan. Good for him.
Full memo after the jump.

I am pleased to announce that Elizabeth Leonard has been named West Coast Bureau Chief for People Magazine. Lizz joined PEOPLE as a reporter in 1997 in the Los Angeles bureau, and was promoted to Associate Bureau Chief in 1999. She became Deputy Bureau Chief in 2001.

Lizz started her career in New York at Newsweek in 1989 where she worked as a reporter. She then spent three years as a newspaper editor and features writer in Vermont before moving to Los Angeles.
Lizz resides in L.A. with her husband Michael Mahon, an actor, and their one-year-old son Tanner.
Todd Gold remains on extended leave completing his book on the Laci Peterson case.
