Nikki Finke, our favorite left coast vituperator (besides our silicone-enhanced brother, of course), is not particularly fond, for some reason, of MTV:

Now the network is all gab about the glam lifestyles, love triangles, mean girls and staged cat fights on these impossible-to-ignore unreality shows starring spoiled simpletons. We don t mean to make like the Rev. James Dobson, but we re certain that the MTV execs who green-lighted these docudramas about socioeconomic excess are headed straight for hell.

And she's right! If hell = CBS News.

According to knowledgeable sources, among the alternatives CBS boss Les Moonves is considering is moving MTV entertainment chief Brian Graden to head CBS News.

Graden, 42, is considered one of the most imaginative executives in parent company Viacom, and has developed some of the most popular series on cable, including MTV's "Laguna Beach," "The Osbournes," "Pimp My Ride," "Jackass" and "Newlyweds."

Of course, the usual caveats (sourceless Post story, possibly written after someone came up with the hed) apply — but we can still dream, can't we? If nothing else, it would add a little excitement to the lives of the poor schmucks at Public Eye.
