The Valley loves a good anniversary — it's nice to see anyone last over a year out here — and of course they love a good Apple puff piece. So convergence (not the PDA-iPod-phone kind) has arrived in the form of Apple's 30th anniversary. The fruit company itself may not be partying yet, but Valley reporters couldn't wait til next Sunday to publish their Apple retrospects. Their angles:

San Jose Mercury News: Beyond the iPod: Apple at 30. Message: TV, movies, podcasts, and gadgets — can they even call it Apple Computer any more?
San Francisco Chronicle: ">A Silicon Valley fairy tale. Message: Just two good ol' boys, never meanin' no harm, makin' their way, the only way they know how...
New York Times: At 30, Apple has colourful past and uncertain future [syndicated in Indian Financial Express]. Message: Some day Steve will retire. Who's gonna follow that act?
Cox News Service: Steve Jobs' Yellow Brick Road Map. Message: When Steve Jobs wasn't at Apple, nothing important happened.

And there's plenty of coverage to come. Tune in next month, when we count the magazine covers with a big apple, a cartoon of Steve Jobs, and the number 30.
