Best Publishers Lunch Ever: Hot Sex With Benoit Denizet-Lewis, and Why Geeks Are Cool
We'd have to call this the most interesting bit of news in this week's Publishers Lunch weekly deal wrapup:
NYT Magazine contributing writer Benoit Denizet-Lewis's AMERICAN VOYEUR: Dispatches from the Far Corners, Back Alleys, and Locked Bedrooms of Modern Life, a collection of the author's previously published journalism on sex and sexuality, youth and romance, race, religion, and identity, to Bob Bender at Simon & Schuster, by Todd Shuster at Zachary Shuster Harmsworth Literary Agency (world).
We know why we like that one: Because we enjoy thinking about studly Benoit while we're reading articles about sex. But here's the deal we found second most intriguing:
Susan Lehman and Judith Newman's LOSERS: A Mortifying History of High School Geeks, Dorks, Nerds and Spazzes — and what makes them the winners they are today, in which the authors explore why some of us peak in high school, and why, thankfully, most of us don't, to David Hirshey at Harper, by Mark Reiter at PFD New York.
And we can't for the life of us figure out why we're eager for a book arguing that high school dorks grow up to be the cool kids. Nope, no idea at all.
