Valleyspeak: FrieNDA, crowdserfing, and lol factor
The growing Valleyspeak phrasebook — a translation of Silicon Valley's language into English — gets three more entries:
- FrieNDA: A non-disclosure agreement between pals, used for good news ("Google made me VP!") and too-hot gossip.
- Crowdserfing: The more economically accurate term for "crowdsourcing."
- lol factor: The earmark of when a blog search tool adds MySpace blogs to its index. A graph of posts using "lol" over time shows when Technorati took MySpace in and out of its database.
