Thousands of city teenage girls are infected with a sexually transmitted disease - and many don't even know it, the first widespread tests of students in selected public high schools reveal. Close to one out of 10 girls tested in five public high schools - two in The Bronx and three in Brooklyn -was infected with chlamydia or gonorrhea, according to the little-known Health Department study obtained by The Post.

The Post reports that the testing program is based on a similar survey from Philadelphia, where chlamyidia and gonorrhea were also prevalent. The paper details that city's program with the following unfortunate headline:

And that's not the only danger facing our children: "Less than two weeks into the school year, tens of thousands of city students are being packed into classrooms like sardines." Tight, tiny syphilitic sardines. We have never been happier not to be in high school.
