24 Hours Left To Sign Up For Health Care
Despite the website glitches and non-stop disinformation, Americans have the next 24 hours to sign up for health care that will start on January 1st. If you haven't yet, maybe pencil in a 2-3 hour time slot (perhaps instead of watching your football team lose) to get health care.
For many of the poor and uninsured, the best way to make sure you're not bankrupted by your next spill is through Medicaid. That is, of course, if your governor extended Medicaid in your state. If not, work day and night to make sure that person is never elected governor again. They aren't confused or have a conviction — they are cold-hearted operators who do not care about people in bad situations.
The other option, if you're more fortunate than most of the uninsured, is to try your hand at the state exchanges. While prices aren't ideal on these, once again, better than bankruptcy. Consider it.
Of course, this is just a transitional piece of legislation before single-payer is the law of the land. And remember for a moment amidst all this nonsense, that it almost was.
