The Hills star Lauren Conrad has a sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler. The Hills star Lauren Conrad doesn't have a sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler. This week's Us Weekly has a four-page spread that tries to get to the heart of the matter. They rely on a couple of sources: Lauren, and a "source close to the couple." Hmm! Who??? Well, we've just gone ahead and made some edits to their item to get to the bottom of this confounding mystery.

Both Conrad and Wahler insist that the item—which included accusations that she tried to break into Wahler's house to steal back the vid and also takes attention deficit disorder drug Adderall—is a fabrication. "I don't understand how people can write things that just have no truth to them," says Conrad, 21. "If I ever tried to get something back from Jason, it was probably just photo albums and stuff." As for the supposedly steamy tape? "Honestly, they videotape my life five days out of the week. I don't need additional footage, you know?" (However, according to a source close to the pair, who is the same person as Lauren Conrad, there is indeed a tape of the former flames "fooling around, but not having sex.") True or not, whoever leaked the rumor seems to have a vendetta against Conrad...

Among the possible culprits: Conrad's former BFF and roommate, Heidi Montag and her manipulative boyfriend, Spencer Pratt, who was Conrad's nemesis throughout The Hills... "Lauren is convinced Spencer leaked the story about a tape," says a source close to Conrad, who is, oh my God, so totally Lauren Conrad, adding that an anonymous quote in the Hilton item calling the aspiring fashion designer a "Goody Two-Shoes" is "a line straight from Spencer's mouth." More possible motivations for smearing Conrad's name? According to the source, who is undoubtedly Lauren Conrad, the couple (who now live together in the L.A. area) "were very upset" when Conrad denied Pratt, 23, an invite to the Hills wrap party in NYC April 2 because "she didn't want someone who did horrible things to her there." Montag's reaction? "She ended up being like, 'Well, if Spencer can't come, I'm not going to come,'" says the insider, who is an insider who is Lauren Conrad. Another Conrad pal, who is strangely enough probably also Lauren Conrad, says that Pratt's ego took a hit after he was made out to be the show's villain, and that he wanted to deflect that label onto Conrad. "He hates that he looks like a bad person and that she looks so good, but they can only edit so much. If you're a bad person, you'll look like a bad person on TV," says the friend, who is a friend in the sense that Lauren Conrad loves herself like a friend.
