Polo Season Kicks Off in Bridgehampton
The 2009 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge held its inaugural match at the Bridgehampton Polo Club on Saturday. Polo heartthrob Nacho Figueras, Chace Crawford, chef Marcus Samuelsson, Kyle MacLachlan and Desiree Gruber, Star Jones and boyfriend Herb Wilson, and a handful of reality TV personalities (Jill Zarin, PC Peterson, Kourtney Kardashian) turned out for the action. Cityfile's roving correspondent Douglas Marshall took a few minutes to catch up with Beth Ostrosky, who turned 37 last week but gets a gold star for still fitting into her short shorts from high school.
Q: Is there a song you'd consider your summer 2009 anthem?
A: What's that song that Howard always has on? It's by Fergie... It's the Black Eyed Peas one. What's it called?
Q: "Boom Boom Pow"?
A: No, the new one. The new one! Oh, yea. "I Gotta Feeling." That's it.
A: What's your go-to summer accessory?
A: I think it would be my cut-off Levi's jean shorts that I've had since high school. Really! No joke. My Daisy Dukes.
Q: You mentioned you were at the pool before coming here. Is there a sunscreen you swear by?
A: My sunscreen is my baseball cap or my big straw hat. I don't put on sunscreen. I feel horrible. I mean I'm getting older, I should probably be using sunscreen.
Q: But it looks like you have a great tan.
A: It's ridiculous. It's because Howard and I run outside and we have no sunscreen on, so we're very dark. I don't bask in the sun though.
Q: Going anywhere fun this summer?
A: The only place we're going is our home in the Hamptons. It's our favorite place to be.
