Art Basel Miami Beach ended a couple of days ago. So how did it go? Sales were surprisingly strong—especially compared to the train wreck of a show last year—and the excess that characterized the event in previous years was back in fashion. Then again, not every fixture on the art scene was impressed.

According to Adam Lindemann, the billionaire heir and obsessive collector who seems to have saved the Observer a few bucks by covering the event himself in this week's issue, it was "bloated."

Not that the "grueling marathon" of having to check out art all day and attend swanky parties at night is going to keep him away next year. "As long as the skirts are too short, the pants are too tight and the Champagne is free, I just can't get enough."
