Kari Ferrell tells Animal NY's Bucky Turco she's being taken in by police in Philadelphia. She was apparently able to use her iPhone while in custody.

Do you give a con artist the benefit of the doubt on something like this? Probably.

Turco said on email it's not clear how Ferrell ended up with the police, whether by turning herself in or being picked up and processed. He said in his post that Ferrell was "very short on details."

Either way, assuming Ferrell is actually in custody, it's getting time to cue the high-profile media trial. But first: Mugshots! (Then, probably extradition to Utah.)

Update: Ferrell says she turned herself in. Also, a Philadelphia Police Department representative told us she couldn't comment on whether Ferrell is in custody as she claims.
