Dr. Horrible to Make Emmy Broadcast Somewhat Less Horrible
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog—the Joss Whedon-penned musical starring Neil Patrick Harris as a video blogging, musical-loving supervillain—is going to get a full-on live performance at tomorrow night's Emmys, EW's learned. You can watch the entire thing here:
Dr. Horrible won a Creative Arts Emmy last week. Whedon funded the three-part web series with his own cash during the WGA strike in 2008, and managed to work it so that he could get around the rules of the strike. Among all the things it produced, both good and awful, this is easily the most memorable, and wonderful. I'm not a diehard Joss Whedon dork like so many others, but I do know that Whedon's committed to doing a second series of Dr. Horrible. Awesome. Enjoy:
And, why not, here's Whedon's acceptance speech. "The greatest expression of rebellion is joy," is, really, a pretty decent line.
