We all got a kick out of the arrest of the Missouri GOP ex-pol for roughing up a sex partner because she forgot the safeword: "Green balloons." The police report is out, and it looks like a straight-up, horrific rape.

Rod Jetton, a 42-year-old Republican Missouri political consultant who formerly served as the speaker of the state's legislature, was charged with felony assault earlier this week for allegedly injuring a lady he was having S/M-style non-Republican sex with. The case was a little comical, because it appeared that the woman had consented to the encounter but had forgotten their agreed-upon safeword.

Now a Missouri blog has obtained the police report of the incident, and the account is much darker: The woman knew Jetton but hadn't seen him in several years, repeatedly rebuffed his advances, and seems to have been drugged. The incident was initially played by the Missouri press as an "S/M scandal," but the victim's account reads more like a brutal rape.

The victim told police that Jetton stopped over at her house one night for a visit carrying two bottles of wine:

SHE STATED WHEN SHE WAS FINISHED WITH THE FIRST GLASS, MR. JETTON IMMEDIATELY FILLED HER GLASS AGAIN IN THE KITCHEN OUT OF HER VIEW. [WOMAN] STATED SHE REMEMBERED THE FOOTBALL GAME ENDING ON THE TELEVISION AND THEY WERE STILL TALKING POLITICS. [WOMAN] STATED MR. JETTON HAD BEGUN TO TRY TO STICK HIS HAND UP HER SHIRT AND SHE PUSHED HIS HAND AWAY. SHE STATED SHE THOUGHT MR. JETTON WAS PLAYING AROUND.

[WOMAN] STATED SHE REMEMBERED PUTTING THE MOVIE "HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT" IN THE DVD PLAYER AT APPROXIMATELY 2300 HOURS. THEY BEGAN TO WATCH THE MOVIE AND MR. JETTON ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE HER PANTS AND SHE TOLD HIM "NO".

At that point, the woman appears to have blacked out, which may explain why the police report noted that Jetton refilled her glass out of her view. She told police that she woke up on the floor with Jetton on top of her, trying to tie her hands together with a belt. She tried to resist, but he started slapping her in the face and she blacked out again.

[WOMAN] STATED SHE CAME TO AND MR. JETTON HAD ONE OF HIS HANDS AROUND HER NECK CHOKING HER. [WOMAN] STATED SHE WAS UNABLE TO BREATH AT THIS POINT. SHE STATED SHE WAS STILL TO WEAK AND GROGGY TO RESIST MR. JETTON. SHE STATED AT THIS POINT, HER HANDS WERE RESTRAINED WITH AN OBJECT SHE ASSUMED TO BE THE BELT.

[WOMAN] STATED AS MR. JETTON CHOKED HER, SHE BLACKED OUT AGAIN. SHE THEN WOKE UP IN HER BED. SHE STATED MR. JETTON WAS HAVING SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH HER. SHE STATED SHE COULD NOT GIVE ANY RESISTANCE DUE TO HER CONDITION. SHE STATED SHE WAS ON HER KNEES IN THE BED AND MR. JETTON WAS BEHIND HER PERFORMING THE SEXUAL ACT. SHE STATED MR. JETTON CONTINUOUSLY SLAPPED HER ON THE OUTSIDE OF HER LEFT LEG AND THE OUTSIDE OF HER RIGHT LEG AS HE HAD SEX WITH HER.

When she woke up the next morning, Jetton was still there. He leaned over her and said, "You should have said 'green balloons'" before kissing her goodbye. We can't figure out why he's only been charged with assault.
