Former John Edwards Aide Discusses His Boss' Sex Tape
We told you about the John Edwards sex tape that will make you say "whoa" on Monday. Now, his former aide and Rielle Hunter affair fallguy Andrew Young has talked about it.
Young, a long-time Edwards staffer who once claimed to be the father of Edwards' child with Hunter and now has a book to shop, has taped his interview with ABC News' 20/20 and his former boss' sex tape is the lead revelation. Young says he made arrangements for it to go public if something "mysterious" were to happen to him. Wow. Sounds menacing.
Actually, it's a bit ironic considering all the trouble Young went through to see what was on the tape. According to a story based on his 20/20 interview that airs tomorrow night, Young found the tape when cleaning out Edwards' house when it was up for sale. He found a video tape marked "Special" that had the tape cut and pulled out. Since that is like a big neon sign saying "watch this, watch this," Young and his wife Cheri repaired the tape so they could watch it. It was a sex tape of a pregnant woman having sex with someone who is obviously John Edwards
It's definitely him. You never see her face. But you see — you clearly see his face for a long time. And I can't speak for the other body parts, but it's definitely his face.
Young's wife Cheri tells 20/20 that the she thinks the woman is Hunter because the woman in the tape is wearing the same jewelry Rielle always did. Now that is some serious spy work and the reason one needs a crafty female accomplice for any spy mission.
They must have learned that from reading all those paperbacks where a wronged couple ends up stumbling into to something and has to get crafty to save themselves from a big, shadowy foe. Those same novels made them paranoid, though. Check out this passage from Young's book, The Politician.
We weren't going to use it in any nefarious way, but I planned to deposit a copy in a safe-deposit box and place at least one other with an attorney with instructions to make it public, if necessary, should anything suspicious befall us. I had read enough John Grisham novels to think that ... sometimes powerful, rich people don't always play by the rules. And we were scared.
If it is so good that they feared for their lives, then we really, really have to see this footage! Either that, or Young is just trying to movie a bunch of copies of his own book.
