A fashion columnist for the Village Voice until late 2009, Yaeger is hard to miss at fashion shows around town thanks to her signature doll-like look.

Although Yaeger has since diversified her portfolio, working as guest contributors for Vogue, New York Magazine, and the New York Times, she is best known for her thirty years as a fashion columnist for the Village Voice. With her "Elements of Style" column (called "Frock Star" for the last few years of its life), Yaeger is celebrated for her belief that fashion was not just for the thin and wealthy and somewhat rambling, poetic writing style. And of course, her own personal look is striking: powdered, porcelain skin, a bright red bowl cut, exaggerated cupid's bow lips, and eccentric clothing combinations. [Image via Getty]
