The Italian-American born actor best known as Christopher on HBO's mob-drama, The Sopranos.

Though he generally plays working-class guys from the outer boroughs of New York, Imperioli was actually born outside of the city, in Mount Vernon. His first recognizable role was in 1990's Goodfellas; he spent the rest of the ‘90s in a number of Spike Lee joints, including Jungle Fever, Malcolm X, Clockers, and Summer of Sam, which he co-wrote and co-produced. It was in 1999 that Imperioli landed his role as Christopher Moltisanti, Tony Soprano's nephew and low-ranking member of the crime family. Imperioli was highly praised for his multi-dimensional portrayal of a quintessential "bad guy." Emmy voters were so impressed that he snagged a statue in 2004. Imperioli has also portrayed characters on the other side of the law, most notably as detectives on Law and Order, Life on Mars, and the short-lived ABC drama, Detroit 1-8-7.

Imperioli is married Victoria Chlebowski — together they own an Off-Broadway theater, Studio Dante. They live in New York with their two kids, Isabella and Vadim. [Image via Getty]
