Yes, he may be embarrassing the party and wasting millions of donated dollars and alienating major donors, but Michael Steele knows what about his stewardship of the RNC has really "rubbed some feathers the wrong way." He's too street.

Steele, looking particularly dope on Good Morning America today in one of those blazer w/o tie esembles that Obama and Ahmadinejad popularized, answered truthfully and reasonably when asked if he thought he had a "slimmer margin for error" as RNC chairman because he's black. "Yes," he said, and he added that the same was true for Barack Obama. Then his answer went off the rails a bit.

"It's more because you're not someone that they know. I'm not a Washington insider, even though I grew up here in D.C.," he said. "My view on politics is much more grassroots oriented. It's not old boy network oriented. And so I tend to, you know, come at it a little bit stronger, a little bit more streetwise, if you will. That's rubbed some feathers the wrong way."

Hah. Michael Steele has no coherent "view on politics," who is he kidding. Also, Michael, it is basically the job of the head of the RNC to be an actual Washington insider with connections to "the old boy network," because that's where Republicans get their money.
