The Race to Vandalize Shepard Fairey's Mural

The more popular Shepard "OBEY" Fairey gets with the Obama poster crowd, the less popular he gets with the hardcore street art crowd. Shep just finished up a huge, highly publicized legal mural on Houston Street. How's that looking now?

• While still in progress, heads were already spreading venomous hate for it.
• While still in progress, it was tagged up.
• Then somebody filled it full of holes.
• Now somebody's plastered a "Target" sign on it.

And it hasn't even been up for a week yet. Ah well. They love you in the West Wing, Shep!
